The article I decided to blog about this week was one entitled Back-To-School Special: Campus Sexual Assault. It's about a girl who was sexually assaulted in her dorm. Even after reporting him, the accused was able to continue going to the school without punishment. The victim, Emma Sulkowicz, decided then to carry her dorm mattress stating that she wont stop until her rapist is removed from the school.

The article is interesting because this isn't the only case where someone who committed sexual assault of any kind was able to walk away with no punishment. I was raised to respect women, and the numbers I read in the article are just disturbing. I believe more focus needs to go to making our schools safe for women. No one should be afraid to attend a university because of problems like this.
